In mid-June, Fuller Group attended and presented at the ASTM Fifth Symposium on the Durability of Building and Construction Sealants and Adhesives. The conference was a two-day event held at the Sheraton Centre Hotel located in Toronto, ON. The symposium was well attended by manufacturers, contractors, and consultants and consisted of over 20 presentations discussing the research, performance, and current trends of sealants in the construction industry.
During the symposium, David VanDommelen, AIA, of our Fuller Envelope division, presented a case study on the investigation and role of sealants and spray-foam insulation in the repair of the air barrier for a condominium complex located on the east coast in North Carolina. Look for the paper discussing the case study to be published in 2017 in the ASTM STP: Selected Technical Papers from the symposium. Fuller was grateful to have the opportunity to present at the symposium and thanks ASTM Committee C24 and the Sheraton Centre for organizing and hosting the conference.
Also during the ASTM Committee week in Toronto, Mr. VanDommelen received the Award of Appreciation for his continued support of ASTM Committee C24 on Building Seals and Sealants.
